I wanted to write to say a HUGE thank you for the fab sessions you gave using and demonstrating the 'Swim-fin'!! Children and staff really enjoyed the time you were able to spend at Forest Oak Special School. We are using the fins all the time during our swimming lessons and they are proving very popular and useful! Our year 3-4 group have been finding it quite difficult to perform a front push and glide but with the swim fins helping them to float, all of the children can now do it!!
With the swim- fins on, children are also able to swim in the deeper end of the pool confidently enabling them to practice their strokes with their feet off the bottom of the pool - something that would ordinarily frighten a lot of children. So, once again, a very big thank you from all of the pupils and staff at Forest Oak for giving us such a useful and fun piece of equipment!!

Just read your article on the daily mail web site. I’m a free lance swimming instructor and I have been using a blue swim fin for some months now for my kids 121 lessons. Regardless of the colour, both the girls and boys love it. The swim fin is much better that the foam arm disks. It’s been a hit with the parents as well as I don’t believe the swim fin has still had the publicity it should within swimming classes. By using the swim fin you’ve improved my reputation! I bought this for my 4 year old daughter to help her to learn to swim. I have tried the arm bands and even the floatation vests for kids. The arm bands impaired the movement and the flotation vests were unstable especial-ly for children and dangerous in my opinion, because if they put their heads in the water the vest hindered them from lifting their heads out of the water. However the swimfin is absolutely amazing. My daughter normally nervous when she is in slightly deeper water, let go of my hands within minutes of wearing the fin. After that I just left her to it really, obviously in close proximity. She was swimming up and down the pool, even at the deep end confidently (albeit in a more vertical doggy paddle style). Now I am teaching her to move her arms out of the water and there is no restriction in movement. I would this recommend this for any child learning to swim

Our 2 1/2 yr old daughter has a swim fin and has used it twice since we bought it 2 weeks ago (we take her once a week) The first time she was bobbing under the water a bit and not very confident but on only her second session with it she was telling me to let her go alone and she was doing the doggy paddle for about 5-10 seconds before needing my assistance, and she was really happy. Its an amazing swimming aid, all the other kids keep asking to have a go and the lifeguards think its the best thing they've seen because it doesn't restrict the child and isn't uncomfortable. We bought it after chatting to someone else who taught their kid to swim with one. I'd definitely recommend it - with the backpack too the fin sticks out the back and its a bit funny cos she's small but also very cute because she's so proud.

"We've just given our initial two Swim Fins a thorough workout with all ages & abilities. They are fantastic! They worked fine on all four strokes and our more advanced and competent pupils even managed acceptable tumble turns at moderate speed. We found them useful for correcting a rolling sideways bias when practicing turns. Best bit of kit we've ever encountered. The Swimfin has gone down really well with our Younger swimmers /Beginners. We have been using them in our adult and child classes and not only are the kids confident the adults seem to have no problems with confidently letting go and allowing the kids to try themselves.

I have just bought a SwimFin which I absolutely love. I am a disabled man with a brain disease called “Cerebellar Ataxia”. This causes me to gradually lose buoyancy – so I can no longer breathe when swimming. But the Swimfin lifts my torso enough to swim. I can now do freestyle-which I can’t without the fin.

I am very impressed by the swimfin. My daughter has Rett Syndrome and is severely disabled. She used to struggle to swim in a straight line, as her right side is weaker than her left, and she used to flip over onto her back. With the swimfin, she can swim almost in a straight line, and she swam 300metres this week wearing it and a single disc on each arm. Good luck with this product. I have recently bought 2 of these fins and I am presently waiting for 6 more to arrive. I own and run a swim school in Abingdon and have encouraged my teachers to try them and they all agree that they are brilliant. We are now going to use them in beginner's and just swims and improver classes where a swimmer may just need a little support (especially when teaching breaststroke). I also work in a local special needs school and although I know these swimmers are really too big for these fins have had exceptional success with them. It is especially hard to get some of these swimmers to swim in a conventional manner and these have made a huge difference and in a fun way. It is always hard to find special equipment for swimmers with special needs that do not cost the earth. Once again thank you for such a simple but practical idea.

I purchased the swimfin for my 5 year old grandson after hearing about it on holiday. As in the picture, it is fin shaped, comes in great colours and fits round the body with two adjustable straps. Although he can't swim properly he is fairly confident in water, but with the swimfin he was off like a rocket and immediately swum a width, just like that. He is delighted with the idea of being mistaken for a shark and is looking forward to wearing it in the sea for maximum effect.

The instructor put the fin on Blake and one of the girls who is also doing well and they went zooming off.

We bought the Swimfin about 6 weeks ago and went the following day to our local pool. Understandably we took the armbands but our (just) 3yr old daughter did not want them or need them!!! She has gained such confidence in such a small amount of time and following a week in Cyprus where we swam every day she has amazed us with her ability and adaptability in the water. She goes from her front to her back easily and where at first her arms and legs definitely thrashed around she now has a more "sedate" floatiness about her - she seems to have found her balance! She knows she has to work at keeping afloat rather than just bobbing up and down with armbands on and she really loves to chase across the pool from one of us to the other! My son used the SwimFin at a recent session at Medlock Leisure Centre (Droylsden) who have a swim session for disabled children every Saturday. We have been trying to get him more mobile as the loves the water and would just float about with armbands. I received my SwimFin yesterday morning and we introduced it to our 3 and 4 year olds at lessons last night. After explaining exactly what we were going to do you could hear a pin drop from the viewing gallery...this however soon abated with applauds and cheers from parents and giggles from the very proud little swimmers!
